Tai Chi Chuan

All Tai Chi classes are taught by Peter Landini, owner of Silk Wind Studio. Traditional methods are used  where all aspects of the art are explored through the principles of Tai Chi. Students will learn not only the Tai Chi form, but QiGong (internal energy practice), Taoist Meditation, Push Hands (partner practices), Martial Art applications for Self-Defense and the weaponry of the Tai Chi sword.

Wu Ji Style Tai Chi

There are are many forms of Tai Chi practiced in China and throughout the world. At Silk Wind we practice the Wu Ji Style taught to me by my teacher, Master William Ting. While it is practiced throughout China, and specifically Shanghai, it is not very well known in the United States. The Wu Ji Style is noted for its continuous coiling, wrapping and unwinding movements and the use of spiraling energy patterns. At higher levels the Tai Chi form is also practiced with a 'quick step' footwork, resulting in Bagua Tai Chi.

  BaGua Zhang

Bagua is an internal martial art with many similar qualities as Tai Chi. It is, however, practiced while continuously walking. With proficiency you are encouraged to increase speed making it a more rigorous workout.
